Two people were injured after a driver allegedly ran a red light Friday in Leavenworth and collided with another vehicle, a police spokesman said.
The accident was reported Friday afternoon at Fourth and Marion streets. A 23-year-old Leavenworth man was driving south on Fourth Street in a 1998 Chevrolet sedan when he allegedly ran a red light. The car collided with an eastbound 1990 Ford pickup truck, according to Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens.
The driver of the sedan was treated at the scene for what Kitchens described as a minor head laceration. The pickup driver, a 50-year-old Leavenworth man, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The 23-year-old man was ticketed by police for allegedly running a red light. The 50-year-old man was cited for allegedly driving in violation of restrictions that had been placed on his license.
