Lawrence Joseph Jaster of Bisbee, AZ (formerly of Leavenworth, KS) passed away peacefully on February 10, 2013. Lawrence was born on June 22, 1922 to Berthold and Anna Jaster in Leavenworth, KS. He married Shirley Eckholdt July 12, 1947 in Leavenworth, KS. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2004. Lawrence served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II from September 1942 until October 1945 and is a Purple Heart recipient. He spent many happy hours with his brothers, "Tiny" and Howard, using his various carpentry skills. He moved to Bisbee in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers; Bobby, Bud, Leonard and Richard "Dick" Jaster, sisters Louise Mictchum, Lucille Dodson and Anna Marie Lawrence.
He is survived by his brothers; Charles "Tiny" and Howard Jaster, his sister JoAnn Porchey, his children Nancy (Mike) Rawlings, David (Antonia) Jaster, and Peggy Jaster, his grandchildren; Amy (Ruben) Villa, Jennifer Silva, Jason Domann, Kevin (Michelle) Rawlings, Sarah (Will) Morse, Molly (Eric) Harris and his great grandchildren; Ashleigh, Micahael, Gabriel, Lindsay, Austin, and Peyton. In addition he leaves behind his beloved dog, Daisy who brought many long hours of sheer joy and happiness.
The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to every member of the Copper Queen Community Hospital from the doctors, nurses, CNA's, housekeeping and kitchen staff. Our Dad received the highest level of care from everyone there, words cannot express our appreciation.
Rosary will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Underwood. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Samuel Jandeh.
