Hazel Day Anderson, age 99, formerly of Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away on February 13, 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born in Tonganoxie, Kansas on October 28, 1913, the daughter of Minor H. Day and Anna J. Cox Day. She moved to Leavenworth with her parents when she was four years of age and attended the Leavenworth public schools and graduated from Leavenworth Senior High School in 1931 after which she finished a course at the Leavenworth Business College and then worked in Leavenworth County offices in the courthouse for several years. Mrs. Anderson is survived by two sons, Craig S. Anderson of Chicago, Il., and Jack C. Anderson and his wife, Mary, of Mooresville, N.C., four grandchildren: Elasheva Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Ian Anderson, and Erin Anderson, a sister, Bessie Day Reynolds of Destin, Fl., a brother, Robert W. Day and his wife, Eloise, of Tallahassee, Fl., several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Gladys Marie Day and Frances Day Cary. Visitation will be at Allen & Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville, Ga on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 5PM to 7PM. Memorial service will be held at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, Ga on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 10AM. Interment will be at Mt. Muncie Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
