Barbara Rose Burket Hall (GRAMMY) age 75 of Lansing, Kansas went to be with the Lord, after a fall, on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday, February 27 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Bonner Springs, KS., with burial to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6-8pm Tuesday evening also at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church.
Barbara was born on November 8, 1937 in a car somewhere in Madera County, California, to her parents Otis and Margaret Burket. She was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri, and graduated from LaFayette High School in 1955. She attended Missouri Methodist School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse in 1958. She worked as a nurse in a few hospitals in the area, had her family and settled in as a nurse at Cushing Hospital for most of her career. She was a longtime member of Elm Grove Baptist Church where she taught a 3rd & 4th grade girls Sunday School class for over 20 years. She sang in the choir and worked with the children teaching them sign language. She loved the children and her family, but most of all she loved the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 49 years Charles Hall in 2007, mother Margaret Burket in 2003 and father Otis Burket in 1974.
Survivors include her son Jonathan C. Hall and wife Lauri of McLouth, KS., daughters Jennifer B. Manthe and husband Joseph, Jr. of Lansing, KS., Kristen M. Hall of Hot Springs, AR., son Timothy B. Hall and wife Ronda of Kearney, Mo., and one sister Margo Israels and husband Chuck of Portland, Or., and one brother Paul Burket of Corona, NY., nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren as well as a host of co-workers, friends and family.
