  • Hot shooting brought a cold end to the Immaculata boys' basketball season.
On Monday, the team traveled to Jefferson County North for the opening round of the teams' substate tournament. In what was a taste of things to come, the Chargers posted 29 points in the first quarter of play.
"They just couldn't miss," Imac coach Mike Connelly said. "They were on fire and just kept stroking the ball from the first quarter on."
Behind the high-powered offensive performance, JCN delivered a 90-58 defeat to the Raiders.
"I was real proud of the boys," Connelly said. "The way they played hard throughout and fought was a testament to their pride. All the seniors stepped up in their last games and I could not be more proud."
Sean Murray had 20 points for Imac behind six 3-pointers while Connor Schmidling added 19 and Danny Boisson chipped in 10.
    Immaculata finishes the year 6-15.
