  • Grace Eileen "Cissy" Lewis, 90 of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away March 1st, 2013 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David McEvoy, O.Carm, officiating.
    Visitation with be Thursday, (today) March 7th, 2013 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., and a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
    Burial will be Saturday, March 9th, 2013 following the Mass of Christian Burial at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, Kansas.
    Grace was born March 22, 1922 in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of Edward and Bessie (Patterson) Lewis.
    She attended Leavenworth Catholic Schools and graduated from High School in 1940. She then attended St. Mary's College for one year.
    Grace was a Federal Civil Servant for 30 years at Fort Leavenworth, in the Department of the Army.
    Grace was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Altar Society, St. John's Guild, Democratic Woman's Club, AARP, NARFE, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, and the Daughters of Isabella.
    "Grace stated that she was put here on earth to help others".
    She is survived by numerous Nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great and great great nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Robert D, Edward A, William F, and James B. Lewis, and one step brother; Frank X. Carney, sisters; Edna M O'Leary, Amy R. Lewis, and Marian F. Lewis.
    Pallbearers will be Cody Lewis, Patrick Peterson, Joseph Nitchals, Luke Nitchals, Jacob Will and Maggie Lewis.
    Memorials in her name may be directed to the Dream Factory or St. Vincent Clinic.
