  • Free agency officially began Tuesday for the National Football League and the Kansas City Chiefs wasted little time getting to work.
The club agreed to contracts with three free agents including former Saints backup quarterback Chase Daniel, who played his college football at Missouri.
The Chiefs also agreed to terms with former Miami Dolphins tight end Anthony Fasano, who
is expected to compete with Tony Moeaki for a starting job, and former Jets defensive lineman Mike DeVito.
In addition, the team's trade for quarterback Alex Smith from San Francisco was officially announced. KC gave up a 2012 second-round pick and a conditional 2013 pick for Smith.
