Jacqueline Marie (Wosser) Porter, 80, passed away at her Irving, Texas home on March 15, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Jackie was born in Leavenworth October 21, 1932 to Edward and Bessie (Hegarty) Wosser.
She graduated from Immaculata High School in 1950 where she was the Homecoming Queen and the Class President. She also attended St. Mary College and taught at a Leavenworth County rural school until her marriage in 1953 to Leo Porter, also of Leavenworth. They moved to Texas in 1953 where they raised seven children and operated their family business, Midway Supply Company.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 60 years of the home, five sons, two daughters, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her children are: Michael (Nancy) Porter, Ardmor, OK; Kathryn (Leland) Davis, Castle Rock, CO; Thomas (Anna) Porter, Flower Mound, TX, Richard (Stephanie) Porter, Cashion, OK; Ted Porter, Irving, TX; Sally (Pat) McKinney, Bedford, TX; James (Krystal) Porter, South Lake, TX. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Wosser Reed, Leavenworth.
Funeral services are Wed, March 20, at the Holy Family of Nazareth Church, Irving. Burial will be at Calvary Hill Catholic Cemetery, Dallas. Memorials may be sent to Immaculata High School c/o Catholic Schools Administration Office, 320 N Broadway, Leavenworth, KS 66048
