• Commissioners proceed with Animal Control site

  • Even though he's still opposed to the site, Leavenworth City Commissioner Davis Moulden said Tuesday he won't make any further effort to move the location of a new Animal Control center.

    And his fellow commissioners reached a consensus Tuesday to put out the project for bids.

      When they met Tuesday, Leavenworth city commissioners took up the following issues:

      They listened to Dee Ketchum, marketing consultant for the Delaware Tribe of Indians. He discussed plans to move the tribal headquarters to Kansas, possibly in the Leavenworth area.

      They reached a consensus for advancing a ordinance to prohibit littering.
