The Spires' right-hander allowed just three hits to the home team, enabling USM to take a 3-0 result.

In the day's earlier game, the Spires lost 2-0.

Saint Mary RBIs came from Joe Haak and Michael Ferracuti and the Spires posted two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth inning.

Travis Quick went 3-for-4 at the plate.

In the first game, Stephen Malisa suffered the lost after giving up two runs over five innings. USM mustered just two hits.

After beating William Jewell 8-4 on Tuesday, the Spires — 7-13 overall and 1-5 in league play — have won two of its last three contests and will host Tabor Saturday at 1 p.m.
