Keith Duane Burnett
Keith Duane Burnett, 48, of Leavenworth passed away on the last day of winter, March 19, 2013.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Born on May 12, 1964 and raised in Paola, Kansas, Keith was the youngest child to Violet Lorraine Jackson Burnett and Clifford LeRoy Burnett. He is survived by his children Jeremy Keith Burnett (son) of Platsburgh, NY, Briana Betrus (step-daughter) of Platsburgh, NY, and Chany Pitts (daughter) of Platsburgh, NY; brothers Richard Dean Pratt of Lansing, KS, Nathaniel Anthony Pratt of Lansing, KS, Christopher (Terri) Burnett of Lansing, KS, and Donnie Burnett of Topeka, KS; sisters Joyce Nadine Burnett of La Jolla, CA, Bonnie Jean Smith of Minneapolis, MN, and Mary Jane Burnett of Pulaski, TN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both parents, brother Michele Antoine Burnett and sister, Penny Lynn Burnett Reindl.
Keith will be remembered as an out-going man who loved his family and children, including his numerous nieces and nephews. A veteran of the US Air Force Military Police Force, he worked in several careers including law enforcement, the airline industry, and most recently, the railroad industry as a Conductor for Burlington Northern Sante Fe.
A talented man of intellectual curiosity and athletically gifted (he was an avid golfer), Keith will be most remembered as a loving person with a big heart who suffered from depression during his later years.
