Dorothy Willis, 94, Kansas City, MO, passed away March 23, 2013, at Garden Valley Manor. Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, April 1 at 12:00 noon at Davis Funeral Chapel Inc., 531 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, Kansas with burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel.
Dorothy was born on October 1, 1918, to Lillie Redmon and Will Pollard in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the youngest of five children. Her parents, siblings, husband Frederick Willis, daughter LaVara June Webber, one granddaughter, Lynda Newton and two grandsons James and Ronald Newton preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She lived in Leavenworth, Kansas most of her life and attended Bethel AME Church for many years before her health failed. Condolences may sent to www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com
She leaves to cherish her memory a son-in-law Clinton Webber, five grandchildren Stephen Newton, South Bend, IN; Renee' Hervey (Dwayne) of KC, Lisa Taylor (Reggie) of Blue Springs, MO; Brenda Harden of Lee's Summit, MO, and Keith Rogers (Bonnie) of Overland Park, KS, eleven great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren and a host of friends.
