Charlotte L. Hunt, 81, Leavenworth Kan., passed away April 6, 2013 in Roeland Park Kan. surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Tuesday (Today) April 9, 2013 from 2 until 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Belden Larkin Funeral Home.
A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 10 a.m., at St Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. David McEvoy, officiating.
Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Charlotte was born September 20, 1931 in New Lennox, Ill. to Michael and Hazel (Gwin) Murphy, the oldest daughter of eight children. July 23,1952 she married Maurice (Mickey) Hunt.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Buster) (Lois) Hunt, Augusta Ga., Tony (Cindylu) Hunt, Lansing Kan., Cheryl (Tara) Hunt, Roeland Park Kan., Sandi Hunt, Leavenworth Kan., Tim (Michelle) Hunt, Leavenworth Kan., Patricia Delaporte, Kansas City Mo., Bruce (Liz) Hunt, Leavenworth Kan., and Jennifer (John) Dallier, Augusta Ga. She is also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, four siblings and numerous nephews and nieces.
They had eight children as they traveled around the world with Mickey in the miltary. In 1971 they settled in Leavenworth after Mickey retired. Charlotte spent 23 years with the American Red Cross, both as a volunteer and an employee. She retired in 1997.
The greatest joys to Mrs. Hunt were her children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and a day at the casino. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three siblings.
Memorials in her name may be directed to St Jospeh/IC Church in her memory.
