To the editor:
I attended the meeting mentioned in April 2, Leavenworth Times by Dr. Glen F. Welch, field agent, The Conservative Party.
All the chairs were pretty much full and the message was simple. If you are dissatisfied with the actions of your present affiliation, then The Conservative Party is an alternative. Refreshments were provided and plenty of literature. Since the literature contains the guts of the party and this was an introductory affair, a short intro was given then questions could be asked.
The conversation was two-way and unhindered. The makings for a party willing to listen but stuck on conservative values and policies. As I stuck my toe in untried waters, it was gratifying to find out for myself what a conservative get-together was like.
Thanks to Dr. Welch, for putting himself out there in such a difficult endeavor. It ain't easy or we would have more parties than you could shake a stick at.
