A man was taken to the hospital following a collision Monday night in north Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.
The accident was reported at 8:33 p.m. Monday at Seventh Street and Metropolitan Avenue.
Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department, said a 20-year-old Lawrence woman had been traveling east on Metropolitan Avenue but attempted to make a left turn onto Fort Leavenworth.
The woman allegedly failed to yield to a westbound 1994 Ford Probe.
"And they collided," Nicodemus said.
The Probe's driver, a 27-year-old Leavenworth man, complained of neck pain. He was treated at the scene by Leavenworth County EMS personnel. He was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
The driver of the Focus was cited for allegedly failing to yield while turning left.
