1. Tell us about your restaurant Lunch & Co. How long have you been open and what inspired you to open a restaurant in Leavenworth?
Lunch & Co. is a cafe where we try to do as much homemade and fresh food as possible. We have the option to carry out or eat in and we recently started delivery (mainly downtown). We opened Jan. 7 and we have started out with just lunch (hence the name) and we will start serving breakfast in April.
It's always been a dream to have a little food place and we're kind of obsessed with food in our house. My mom, grandma and my boyfriend's grandma have all been inspirations because we're always talking about or making food. I've never had a bad meal with any of them and I'm hoping to incorporate some of the dishes we grew up on that we still can't get enough of and make everyone else fall in love with them too.
2. What types of food do you feature and what is your most popular dish?
We do anything lunch-related, but mainly our menu consists of sandwiches, soups, salad and desserts. we try out different hot specials throughout the week and so far our most popular is chicken salad(homemade)
3. What makes your restaurant different from other restaurants in the area?
trying to do as much as we can in house so i can say its signature or homemade. i love when people try our food and love the combination we chose or say that it was really good i never would have though of that.
4. What are some examples of the creative specials that you offer?
we have new things available all the time, but we sell out of our broccoli cheese potato soup and meatloaf sandwiches when they are on special. its one of my favorites... i always loved meatloaf leftovers at home on a sandwich so i thought why not put the sandwich on and its been popular....you can get anything we have available on any sandwich and we have small side of soup salad or chips available to go with the sandwiches. giving a variety so people aren't stuck when they're not in the mood for chips.
5. What is the best thing about owning and operating a restaurant in downtown Leavenworth?
the best thing about down town is its surrounded by businesses and were right in the middle. i love my view out any window, i love being in a historic building with the floor to ceiling brick walls, and having such a great location and we get new people all the time just strolling by.
