Bats go cold for Lady Pioneers; Saint Mary doubled-up by Friends

The bats were very quiet for the Lady Pioneers Tuesday.

Traveling to take on Shawnee Mission East, the Leavenworth softball team lost 7-0 and then 11-1 to its hosts. The pair of defeats dropped the squad to 0-8.

In game one, Leavenworth could not scrape a hit together as Layne Broeker took the pitch loss.

Game two saw a Broeker RBI give LV a first-inning lead, which didn't last the bottom of the frame.

Makayla Foskett went 3-for-3 and Darienne Watkins recorded the loss.

Leavenworth will play at 4:15 p.m. Friday at Olathe Northwest.
