Two people were taken to the hospital following a hit and run accident Wednesday in Tonganoxie, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday south of Honey Creek Road on U.S. 24-40.
A 23-year-old Tonganoxie woman was driving west in a 2009 Nissan Cube when she slowed for a vehicle making a right turn. The Cube was rear-ended by a red vehicle, which did not remain at the scene, according to the report.
The woman and her passenger, a 4-year-old boy, were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for what were described as possible injuries.
The woman had been wearing a seat belt and the boy was in a booster seat, according to the report.
