Ruth Judstra Whisler, 88, of Leavenworth, died peacefully in the presence of family on April 9, 2013, at NorthCare Hospice House, North Kansas City, Mo. She was born Ruth Arlene Judstra to Grace Shepard and Bernard Judstra on July 18, 1924, in Platte, South Dakota.
Ruth is survived by a brother, Kenneth Judstra of Tucson, Ariz., four living children, Cheryl (Tim) Miller, of Hilton Head, S.C., Judy (Mike) Schlehr of Lake Sinclair, Eatonton, Ga., Danny (Sharon) of Leavenworth, and Jerry, also of Leavenworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Raymond, to whom she was married for 63 years and her daughter, Susan Whisler Werts.
She is survived also by 10 wonderful grandchildren: Trisha (David), Stephanie (John), Jason (Rovelyn), Daniel (Brandi),Barbara (Danny), JB (Jessica) and William, Arlene Rose (Paul), Nicholas (Becky) and Vincent.
Ruth was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, April 14 at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 15, at the Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
