  • In nearly every event, a Lansing swimmer was either first or second Thursday.
That domination unofficially gave the Lady Lions swim team a commanding win at Washington. Maur Hill and St. James Academy also competed at the event, where the official results were not released before press deadline due to technical difficulties.
“It was a great meet for us,” Lansing coach Mona Hauver said. “Nearly every girl improved their time and in most events, we went one and two.”
Of those victories, the Lions coached highlighted the biggest drops in times. Ally Hecht swam 20 seconds off her 500 free time, which gave her second place overall.
In the 200 free, both Kelli Myracle and Payton Watson dropped time while getting gold and silver, and Mikayla DePaolis and Hecht did the same in the 100 back.
Rachel Jessup sweated off seconds on her 200 IM mark, which enabled her to snatch first.
Lansing will compete in the Blue Valley Southwest Tournament on April 20.
