Retired Lt. Col. Bruce D. Chesne, 54, Lansing, Kan., died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at St. John Hospital.
He received his final marching orders as a Soldier of GOD; he loved the LORD our GOD with all his heart, soul, mind and strength.
He was born September 24, 1958 to Howard and Janet (Chapman) Chesne. Bruce is survived by Karen Chesne, his wife of 34 years, his children David and Essie, and grandson Roy, his parents, Howard and Janet Chesne, mother-in-law, Juanita Luther, his siblings, Lydia, Jeff, and Renee, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Bruce graduated from Marshall University in 1980 and was commissioned an officer in U.S. Army through their ROTC program. He served nearly 23 years on Active Duty including Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After retirement Bruce worked for the Department of the Army as a civilian, the last few years at CAC G-6 on Fort Leavenworth.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Frontier Chapel on Fort Leavenworth , Kan., followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
