Lady Rams take out Immaculata; Saint Mary drops four
Monday was the newest chapter in the Immaculata/Pleasant Ridge softball rivalry, and it was a long one.
Playing late into the night, it was the Lady Rams who were able to sweep the host Raiders 12-2 and 17-13 under the lights at Sportsfield.
“Even though we were pretty sluggish, we still were able to get the wins and that is all that matters,” PR coach Chris Robinson said.
Pleasant Ridge will be at ACCHS Thursday while Immaculata will be at Troy.
Lady Spires drop four
With the regular season rapidly winding down, the Saint Mary softball team is trying to squeeze in as many make-up games as possible.
So, over the weekend, the Lady Spires completed two road series and lost both doubleheaders. On Saturday, the squad fell 3-0 and 12-4 at Ottawa University.
On Sunday, USM suffered a 6-2 and 2-0 defeats at Tabor College.
Saint Mary, 5-9 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference and 9-19 overall, will try to snap its current four-game slide when it hosts Kansas Wesleyan today.
