Two teens were injured Tuesday in an accident near Basehor, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at 7:32 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 24-40 about a half mile west of Basehor.
A 16-year-old Tonganoxie boy was driving north on 166th Street in a Ford Explorer. He allegedly failed to yield at U.S. 24-40 and the Explorer was struck in the passenger side by a westbound tractor-trailer, according to the report.
The 16-year-old driver and his passenger, a 15-year-old Tonganoxie girl, were transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. Both had been wearing seat belts.
The truck driver, a 45-year-old Pensacola, Fla., man, was not injured, according to the report.
