Pleasant Ridge’s Tony Weber, Immaculata’s Sarah Wagner headline teams’ medal lists
With the weather finally cooperating, the Immaculata and Pleasant Ridge track teams competed at Hiawatha on Thursday.
Of the two local schools, it was the Rams who faired the best.
The Ridge girls came in fifth overall while the PR boys were seventh.
“We had a really good night,” PR coach Glenda Connelly said. “Both the girls and boys relay teams had best times. The girls' 4x800 took off 24 seconds, so we are really excited for that relay team.”
The Raiders saw its boys' squad come in 10th and its girls' team earn 11th.
“We went up a little shorthanded with just eight competitors,” Imac coach Terry Jordan said. “The weather cooperated giving the athletes a great opportunity to compete.”
Below is a quick rundown of each school's top highlights:
Pleasant Ridge
Tony Weber, first in boys' 1,600 and 3,200 meters
Syvannah Williams, second in 300 hurdles and third in 100 hurdles
Haley Worthington, third in javelin
Blake Graham, third in 100 meters and fourth in 200 meters
Rachel Hattok, fourth in the 1,600 meters
Matt Smith, fourth in 100 meters
The boys' 4x100 relay snatched second while the girls' 4x100 relay won third.
Ridge will host its annual meet Monday beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Immaculata
Sarah O'Neil, third in 300 hurdles
Drew Sachen, fourth in 100 meters, seventh in long jump and eighth in 200 meters
Mark Hernandez, fifth in high jump
Grace Parker, seventh in 100 meters and eighth in 200 meters
Cole Humble, personal bests in 800 and 1,600 meters
Imac will compete at the PR meet on Monday.
