Leavenworth County lacrosse's Kevin Remmenga and Austin Rainville each netted three goals a piece Thursday during the Bulldogs 9-4 home win over the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints.
Rainville, a Lansing junior, struck first for the Bulldogs with a goal in the opening two minutes, which was followed in rapid succession by a Saints strike.
The teams stayed tied until Pleasant Ridge sophomore Bradley Caya fired in a close range shot. He was assisted by Leavenworth senior Dylan Why.
Lansing freshman Justin Fonyi was then assisted by Leavenworth's Jon Bochtler to put the Bulldogs up 3-1 at the end of one.
The Saints began the second quarter with a tally, but following a Remmenga assisted, Leavenworth junior Dylan Levine answered just 24 seconds later. Rainville then scored the quarter's final goal to put LV up 5-2 at half.
The two teams see-sawed through the third with no score until the 2:39 mark, when Why scored an unassisted goal and Remmenga added another to put the Bulldogs ahead 7-2 entering the fourth.
In the final frame, Remmenga scored his third, as did Rainville, to secured the 9-4 win.
The Bulldogs next game is Tuesday at Olathe.
