A Leavenworth woman suffered a cut to her hand when a man allegedly pulled a knife on her during an argument, a police spokesman.
The incident was reported at 7:07 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Sherman Avenue.
The 44-year-old man and 30-year-old woman apparently live together. The incident occurred during an argument about home repairs, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The man allegedly approached the woman with a kitchen knife. The woman apparently tried to grab the knife or push it away, resulting in the injury to her left hand.
"Also during the this argument, the female threw the male's breathing machine and broke it," he said.
The woman also is alleged to have put the man in a bear hug at some point during the altercation.
Both were arrested. The man was arrested for an allegation of aggravated battery. The woman was arrested for allegations of criminal damage to property and battery, Nicodemus said.
