To the editor:
I would like to say how pleased I am that whenever I am sitting along the side of the road and someone from the Sheriff's Department comes along they usually stop to see if I need help.
I ride my bicycle about 4,000 miles a year and about halfway through my route I stop to eat and drink. I take about 10 or 15 minutes to rest and then I'm on my way again.
It is reassuring to know that if I was sick from the ride or if my tire was to go flat they would stop and ask if I needed help. I have ridden in many other states and rested along the road and very seldom does anyone stop to ask how things are going.
Thanks to the Leavenworth Sheriff Department for being concerned and friendly.
