Lady Rams record two blow out wins while Leavenworth suffers two more

With a No. 1 regional seed in its cross-hairs, the Pleasant Ridge softball team welcomed Maur Hill Monday.

The pressure of shooting for a top spot in next week's postseason tournament had little effect on the Lady Rams, who whomped their visitors 14-3 and 13-2.

“I was excited to see the girls fight with focus today,” PR coach Chris Robinson said. “We played better and we were better focused, which is something we've been working on.”

In game one, Sarah Wagner gobbled up the pitching victory while Abby Reed (3-for-3) and Alexis Amos (2-for-2) paced the offense.

Game two saw 2-for-2 efforts by Alyssa Joyce and Jordan Adams lead the offensive output while Cheyenna Owens recorded the win on the mound.

Pleasant Ridge, 11-5, will try to secure a No. 1 seed in its upcoming regional tourney when it hosts Doniphan West today at 4:30 p.m.
