  • Though the Immaculata softball team received quality pitching Monday, it's defense betrayed the performance.
“Kasey Cannon put in an awesome effort today, she just didn't get any support in the field,” Imac coach George Johnson said. “Eight errors in the first inning really put us in a hole. The effort was there, just not the execution.”
Opening its regional tournament at McLouth, the Lady Raiders lost 15-3. Cannon took the pitching loss, though many of the opposing runs were unearned.
“Seniors Megan Abbott had a couple key hits in there and kept us in early, as did senior Claire Melero,” Johnson said. “They did that all season.”
    Immaculata concluded the year 0-11.
