Elizabeth Joann Payne, 59 of Leavenworth, Kan., passed away peacefully after an extended illness at her home surrounded by her family and friends May 17, 2013.
Elizabeth Joann Payne, 59 of Leavenworth, Kan., passed away peacefully after an extended illness at her home surrounded by her family and friends May 17, 2013. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22. 2013 at Faith Evangelistic Center with Bishop Keith Conard officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m., until Service time at the Center. Burial will be in Fall Creek, Jarbalo, Kan.
Elizabeth was born June 24, 1953 in Arkansas City, Kan., the daughter of Gerald Lee Marsh and Sylvia Millard. She was raised by her stepfather Lawrence Kensbock and her mother. She graduated from Lansing High School and then attended St. Mary's University in Leavenworth, majoring in Business Education.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church and Faith Evangelistic Center in Leavenworth. Elizabeth was a sales associate at Walmart until her health failed. Her high spirit bought joy to everyone that she interacted with. She enjoyed walking and spending quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter; Dorthea M. Brown and her husband Mark, one son; James Edward Brown, Jr. all of Leavenworth. Twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, a nephew that she raised Alvin Ray Thomas, Jr and his wife Nicole of Leavenworth, one sister in law, Darlene Nichols of Leavenworth, and her partner Duane Schmidling of Leavenworth, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; John Randall Kensbock, and one sister; Katherine Eloise Meeker.
