According to IMCOM officials, the traveling show this year ― with its theme “Ready and Resilient: At Your Service” ― will have visited about 40 different stages in the U.S. over the four months of its tour. Pictured is Sgt. Craig Molton of Suwon Air Base in South Korea performing the opening number alongside fellow soldiers.

Though the modern soldier show dates back to 1984, the roots of the idea are much older, with the first showcase of Army talent organized by Sgt. Israel “Irving” Berlin in 1918 on Broadway in New York City.
