While the faces will be the same, people's duties are changing at the Leavenworth school district office.
Superintendent Kelly Crane said the district's central office has reorganized in the wake of Associate Superintendent Eric Punswick's departure. Crane said Punswick's position is not being filled.
"We are redistributing duties," the superintendent said.
She said this will result in a significant savings for the district.
Some administrators are changing their job titles. Bret Church, who previously was the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, will now simply be called the assistant superintendent.
Kevin Hansford, who had been the director of elementary education, is now the executive director of teaching and learning. Susie Ostmeyer was the director of technology support services but is now the executive director of instructional services.
Punswick has resigned from the Leavenworth public school system to take a job with the Olathe school district.
When they met Monday, members of the Leavenworth Board of Education gave their OK for the central office reorganization by approving personnel changes, new job descriptions and a new organizational chart.
According to the organizational chart, Church now supervises the director of support services as well as two assistant directors for human resources. These are people who previously worked under the associate superintendent.
Church also supervises the school principals.
The district's director of special education services now works under Hansford. The director previously worked under the associate superintendent. The director of secondary education also works under Hansford.
Ostmeyer supervises the director of technology, who previously worked under the district's chief financial officer. Crane said Ostmeyer also will serve as a liaison to the Leavenworth County Special Education Cooperative.
Kevin Gullett, chief financial officer, will continue to supervise the director of accounts and reports, facilities director and director of child nutrition.
