Thelma Elsie Launer was born on October 8, 1916, in Claiborne Parrish, La. She married Frank C. Launer in Bossier City, La., on August 28, 1938. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2011. Thelma was also preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Orbin Phillips.
Thelma was a lifelong homemaker, raising three children. She is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyn Sue and her husband Dwight E. Sandahl of Leavenworth, Kan.; a son, Eugene Christian and his wife Anna Marie Launer of Grand Junction, Colo., a son, Rodney von Launer and Chris Garner of Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren, Cynthia Sue Sandahl, Frank Edward Sandahl, Scott Christian Launer, Stephanie Marie Burner and Patrick Alan Launer, as well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Thelma was raised in the Baptist church and was a member of High Prairie Church in Leavenworth, Kan., at the time of her death on June 21, 2013.

Visitation will be at Davis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A short grave side service will be held at West Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Topeka, Kan.
