1. Can you tell us about your store and what sort of items a customer can find there?
The store supplies items that people need for conscious living. More and more people are looking for ways to make good choices about healthy lifestyles and natural living. We carry many varieties of food-grade herbs and teas which can be utilized for a variety of different health concerns. There are crystals and stones, hand-crafted soaps, aromatherapy products, candles, books, handmade items and jewelry. Classes, on a variety of subjects, and Reiki sessions are available.
2. What would you advise someone to try if they came in and asked for a product that could provide headache relief for instance?
We carry a variety of teas, singles and blends, which can be very calming and relaxing. A selection of essential oils is available that can be smelled to help relieve tension such as lavender, peppermint, orange and frankincense.
3. How do the Reiki sessions work and are they effective in controlling pain and promoting relaxation?
A Reiki treatment is a clothes-on session that helps the body's natural ability to heal itself.
A treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes, after which the client normally feels refreshed, energized, stress and pain free, and completely relaxed.
Reiki is not a medical practice; it offers no promise of cure and does not 'treat' any illness. It does offer a method of supporting other modalities and health care by encouraging a balanced human energy field.
4. How did your interest in these healing techniques come about and why did you decide to open the store?
I have always had an interest in the metaphysical and many areas of natural healing and conscious living.
A friend suggested that I use these interests and knowledge to open a store. So far, everyone that has been in has expressed love for the store and they are happy to have this type of business in their community.
This shop is based on being respectful of all faiths and belief systems. I strive to foster a peaceful harmonious place to shop and learn from each other. I hope with knowledge comes acceptance.
5. Do you have plans to expand and add to the product and services that you offer?
Absolutely. We plan to make a hands-on craft space for customers to make their own salves, tea blends, tinctures, cleaning products, bath salts and scrubs. We also plan to sell herbs in bulk, continue evolving new product lines (including unique clothing), and add more classes. If someone comes in and suggests an interest in a class we have not yet offered, I will organize one with a qualified teacher. We want to offer what customers really want and need. A lot of amazing customers have visited since the store opened and I have made some wonderful friends.
