To the editor:
While closely observing developments in business and economics, you can often see that horrible decisions by government almost certainly lead to strings of decisions just as bad or worse.
In nearly all countries there exists an unskilled and uneducated manual labor force. They perform the low paid, but vital manual labor of their country. And they're crucial to a thriving economy.
We're swamped with illegals. They come here for work cause they know we pay our indigenous manual labor force not to work. We lavish them with welfare benefits to the point they live totally fruitless lives at the expense of those who do work. Illegals come here certain they can find the jobs our welfare recipients won't do. They're not fools.
The majority of Americans don't want the illegals here, but both political parties do. The Democrats plan to make them into their welfare voters by paying them not to work also. The Republicans say a manual labor force is vital to a prosperous country and that some of our businesses can't survive without them.
We're told we can't deport them – it would cost zillions. Of course, we wouldn't need to. If our laws specified a $1,000,000 fine for employing an illegal, and for supplying an illegal with a residence, they would soon self deport. They'd have little option. Other countries don't allow open and illegal immigration, they vigorously enforce laws against it. Our borders are wide open and our government does nothing to secure our country.
Now our hopelessly dishonest and corrupt government is looking to grant blanket amnesty to these invaders, against the wishes of the American people. Both the Republicans, the Democrats, and our hopelessly corrupt media are engaging in massive theater of the absurd trying to persuade our population what they're contemplating is rational when it's totally irrational and thoroughly dishonest. This is all the result of our allowing our manual labor force to be paid to be not only useless to our country, but a huge financial drain as well. Some deal, huh?
When looking at a complex and stupid situation it's very enlightening to look for the "first bad act." That's where all the following stupidity flows from. The first bad act in this situation was setting up a vast array of open ended categorical welfare grants and making them so attractive, and dependency creating, people cease to be members of our workforce for eternity. We're knee-deep in them and they're bankrupting our country. Those who still work also pay the billions of dollars the illegals cost this country each year by their presence.
Our government evidently thinks us stupid and gullible enough to believe any lies they tell us. They're telling some genuine whoppers right now about the illegals, and the stupidity on their part that got us where we now are.
Page 2 of 2 - There is no end to governmental stupidity, it just keeps going and going. We need some plain common sense applied to this catastrophe, But don't hold your breath waiting for it – it isn't coming.
