    What kinds of family activities are on the upcoming schedule?
    In efforts to promote good health and active lifestyles, the Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating National Dance Day, geared to get you up, moving and grooving.
    The WAC-ky WAC-A-Thon is a goofy triathlon for children that involve crossing the water in a wacky way, riding bikes around cones and then running an obstacle course.
    Where can one go to participate in these events?
    The Dance Day is free and will be held at 10th Avenue Park on July 27 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
    The WAC-ky WAC-A-Thon participants must be registered at the Riverfront Community Center by July 26. The fee is $15 and includes a T-shirt and a trophy. This event will be held on August 3 at 9 a.m. at the Wollman Aquatic Center.
    Who is allowed to participate in these events?
    The dance will be appropriate for children nine years and up. It’s a positive way to maintain good health and provides a great social environment to meet friends or make some new ones.
    The WAC-ky WAC-A-Thon is for children ages 6-12.
    What will the National Dance Day be like? What can a participant expect?
    Our disc jockey will get us moving with all the newest dance music.
    We’ll start with some fun dance instruction to get the party going. Prizes will be awarded. Food and snacks will be available for purchase.
    The music and dances will be appropriate for children nine and older.
    Is the WAC-ky WAC-A-Thon a competitive event?
    Fun is had by all and children are awarded by just being an active participant.
    They will love the goofy components to the event!
