The man provided a description of the driver, a person he'd only recently met. The driver was said to have left with other people who took the truck from the scene, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Authorities were unable to locate the person described as the driver.
A witness reported seeing a third person towing the pickup truck south from where the injured man was found.
The truck was found abandoned and disabled on another street. Open containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle.
