  • Even after graduation, two Saint Mary basketball players continue to represent the university and program in a positive light.
For their strong academic performances over the 2012-2013 season, USM grads JEB Greenberg and Marc McGrory won distinction from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) earlier this week in academic achievement.
To qualify for the NABC Honors Court, student athletes must have had a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year.
“I’m proud of both JEB and Marc for being named to the 2013 NABC Honors Court. It shows how committed both of them have been on as well as off the court during their basketball careers here at Saint Mary,” said Spires head coach Jon Bishop.
Greenberg, a guard from Leavenworth, and McGrory, a center out of Columbia, S.C., were key parts of a Spires team that won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title and advanced to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division II national tournament.
Both earned their bachelor’s degrees from Saint Mary in May.
“We strive for our players to be excellent in everything they do and these two guys are great examples of that,” Bishop said.
