A woman was taken to the hospital after she struck a dump truck Tuesday night in Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.
The accident was reported at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday. A 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a parked 1989 Ford dump truck on Fifth Avenue just north of Ohio Street, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The Jeep's driver, a 43-year-old Leavenworth woman, complained of head, chest and neck pain. She was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
She was cited by police for allegations of inattentive driving and speeding, according to Nicodemus.
