A Leavenworth man was airlifted to the hospital following a crash Tuesday night on Kansas 5 Highway, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office.
The accident was reported at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday south of Stranger Road.
It appears Ryan B. Crow, 25, had been driving north in a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. The vehicle crossed the center of the roadway and went into a ditch on the west side K-5. The Jeep struck a utility pole and a tree before coming to rest, according to the report.
Members of Leavenworth County Fire District No. 1 removed doors from the vehicle in order to extricate the driver.
Crow was believed to have suffered multiple injuries to his head, neck, arms, legs and chest, according to the report.
He was flown by Life Star helicopter to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
