A woman was taken to the hospital following a collision Tuesday afternoon in Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.
The accident was reported around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway and Michigan Street.
A 50-year-old Leavenworth woman was driving east on Michigan in a 2005 Chevrolet Cruze. She allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign, colliding with a northbound 1998 Buick Park Avenue, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The Buick was driven by a 57-year-old Leavenworth woman. There were three passengers in the Buick. One passenger, a 95-year-old woman, was checked at the scene by Leavenworth County EMS personnel before being transported to the hospital.
The woman complained of pain in one of her wrists and to the right side of her body, according to Nicodemus.
No other injuries were reported.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was cited by police for allegedly failing to yield from a stop sign.
