  • Three event highlights:
    1. The Lansing Community Library will be having an End of Summer Reading Celebration Friday evening. The free event, which will begin at 6 p.m., will feature a performance from the Clement McCrae Puppet Shows called "Puppets: Can You Dig It."
    2. Following the puppet show, there will be an interactive session with the puppeteers. Library Director Michael McDonald said children will be able to see how the puppets are operated. Refreshments will be served during the celebration.
    3. Winners of the Lansing 2013 Summer Reading Program also will be announced during the celebration. The event is scheduled to conclude around 7:30 p.m. The celebration will take place in the parking lot of the library, which is located at 730 First Terrace in Lansing. Parents are asked to park on the north side of the building or at Lansing City Hall, 800 First Terrace.
