A Leavenworth woman was arrested for aggravated battery after she allegedly pulled a knife on her boyfriend, a police spokesman said.

A Leavenworth woman was arrested for aggravated battery after she allegedly pulled a knife on her boyfriend, a police spokesman said.

The boyfriend, who suffered a cut to his right hand, also was arrested for misdemeanor battery.

The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Ottawa Street.

The 20-year-old boyfriend allegedly threw a beverage at the 21-year-old woman, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

"The female armed herself with a knife and the male was cut with the knife during a struggle," Nicodemus said.

The boyfriend was treated at the scene by Leavenworth County EMS personnel before he was taken to jail. The woman also was taken to jail.
