A man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening his father with a cooking utensil, according to a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

A man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening his father with a cooking utensil, according to a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The incident was reported around 6 p.m. Sunday at the victim's residence on Woodend Road in rural Tonganoxie, according to Maj. Jeff Dedeke, chief deputy for the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office.

The 49-year-old victim apparently had an argument with his 26-year-old son. The victim told authorities his son threatened him with what Dedeke described as a pointed cooking utensil. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was arrested for an allegation of aggravated assault.
