  • Five people were arrested and authorities seized suspected drugs Monday night during the search at a Leavenworth residence, a Sheriff's Office spokesman said.
The warrant was served around 8 p.m. Monday at a home in the 1000 block of Ironmoulders. Undersheriff Jim Sherley said the Sheriff's Office had received a report of narcotics activity and a high volume of traffic in that area.
Authorities found suspected meth and marijuana at the residence. Drug paraphernalia also was seized. Sherley didn't know the quantity of suspected drugs seized. He said there was "not poundage" but there were chargeable amounts.
Five people, two men and three women, were arrested for alleged drug violations. Three of the suspects also had unrelated arrest warrants.
The suspects are said to be from the Leavenworth area.
The Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office's Tactical Assistance Group was involved in the execution of the search warrant.
