1. Are there any events coming up soon that I can include my dog?
Two special events are coming up in September that your dogs and you will enjoy.
Wollman Aquatic Center will be hosting a Pooch Pool Party for your dogs to take a cool dip, and the Hound Hike at Waggin' Tails Dog Park will sure to keep you and your dogs active and socializing.
2. When and where are these events, and is there a charge for them?
The Pooch Party is Tuesday, September 3 at Wollman Aquatic Center.
Small dogs will be able to swim from 4-5:30 p.m. and large dogs from 6-7:30 p.m.
The cost is $5 per dog, with no more than one dog per person.
The Hound Hike event is Sunday, September 15 from 1-4 p.m. The hike begins at approximately 2p.m. at the Waggin' Tails Dog Park, and will consist of a one or two mile hike through the VA grounds.
The registration fee is $25 for the first dog, and $15 for each additional dog.
You may register for this event in advance by Aug. 30 at the Riverfront Community Center, or the day of the event at the Dog Park, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
3. Where do the proceeds go?
Both events will raise money towards the support and future improvements and amenities to the Leavenworth Waggon' Tails Dog Park.
4. I would like to get some new dog toys. Will they be available to purchase at these events?
Yes, there will be vendors anxious for you to see what they have for your furry companions.
There will be fun things for the two legged family members also: music from the DJ, raffle drawings and concessions.
