    An artist, a soldier, boxer, businessman, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Ed passed on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. He is survived by, Natalie, his wife, of 60 years, as well as four adult children, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Ed lived a long and exciting life: Golden Gloves, amateur and professional middleweight boxer, Tank Commander and veteran of the Korean war, graphic artist, calligrapher, and owner of a Park Avenue, New York City art studio for over 30 years, and gourmet cook. He retired to the Leavenworth/Lansing area in 2006, where he continued doing artwork for friends and family. There will be a Jewish funeral service at the Davis Funeral Chapel, Shawnee and 6th Street, Leavenworth, Kan., starting at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, September 1, 2013. That same day, at 1 p.m., friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering at 713 Willow Drive, Lansing, Kan. Friends are also invited to visit with the family at home - "Sitting Shiva" in Jewish tradition - from 4-7 p.m., on September 2 and 3, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 12000 Wornall, KC, Mo. Condolences may be sent to www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com
