Leavenworth city officials will host an unveiling ceremony Tuesday for a plaque honoring local residents who were killed in World War II and the Korean War.
The event will begin at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Leavenworth City Hall, 100 N. Fifth St.
The plaque, which lists the names of people from Leavenworth County who died in the two wars, is being put back on permanent display at City Hall after it was removed in 2004 during renovations.
The ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Laura Janas Gasbarre and Lynn Rolf III, the Kansas VFW state commander. Cadets from the JROTC program at Leavenworth High School will present the colors.
The event is open to the public.
