The Leavenworth Times - Leavenworth, KS
  • Letter: Trust but verify

  • In its Aug. 13 editorial critique of Secretary Kobach, the Leavenworth Times implicitly approves of non-citizens canceling the votes of citizens.
That the FedGov is willing to accept the word of a "voter" that the "voter" is a citizen does not necessarily mean that the state (father of FedGov) must do likewise.

Ronald Reagan famously said, "Trust but verify."
Secretary Kobach believes Kansas' political integrity is worth the step of verifying.
Let us not sell it out at all and especially not cheaply.
