A Leavenworth man reportedly fled from a courtroom after learning a traffic court judge had sentenced him to jail, a prosecution official said.

The incident occurred Wednesday at the Justice Center in Leavenworth. After leaving the courtroom, William Bingo Dickerson Jr., 27, reportedly continued to run, making his way out of the building, according to County Attorney Todd Thompson.

Thompson said Dickerson had been sentenced in Leavenworth County District Court to six months in jail for driving with a suspended license.

A warrant was issued for Dickerson's arrest after he fled. Thompson said Dickerson could face new charges.
